Ingenuity events are a chance for individuals who are driven to use their ingenuity to drive change across the UK to meet, share ideas and gain insight from other participants and supporters of the programme. This will enable greater understanding, hear from diverse perspectives, and facilitate a better understanding of the key issues we face as a society.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all events and activities will be online for the Ingenuity 2020 Programme.
Ingenuity will take place in four regions across the UK.
Online events will explore each of the Challenges from a regional perspective, featuring specialist speakers, and bring together those in regions who are interested in creating start-ups and organisational innovation to transform society, change lives, and tackle climate change.
They will be held by regional University Hosts on the following dates:
Hosted by the University of Nottingham
Hosted by the University of Warwick
Hosted by the University of Sussex
Hosted by the University of Gloucestershire
Following the Regional Summits, participants will have access to a half-day mentoring session, where they will work through a structured problem-solving workshop to develop, test and validate their ideas.
In late February 2021, submitted business plans and ideas for organisational innovation will be assessed by a national specialist panel. The most innovative ideas from each region will be invited to pitch at Regional Finals which will be held by regional University Hosts in early March. Gaining feedback from regional experts and sponsors, the most scalable ideas will be awarded up to £30,000 of grant and mentoring support. The most viable ideas from each Challenge pathway will be invited to attend the national Ingenuity Week in late March.
The most scalable ideas from across the UK will be invited to a dynamic few days of high-level development and acceleration with industry leaders and impact investors. This will culminate with the Impact Evening where we will celebrate and invest in the next generation of impact innovations.
