Community Consultation

We exist to support you, your family, friends and community. We want to understand the challenges you face and the changes you want to see.

We want to work with you on the issues that you care about. Whether that’s to create better housing, develop new jobs and opportunities, or to help people live happier and healthier lives, we want to hear from you!

We have worked with individuals across the UK to tackle the issues that are most important to them, including some of our fantastic alumni featured below. Get involved with our community consultation to tell us what is most important to you. Let’s work together to design solutions that create real change.

Clauir eHenson from Anxiety Map Programme
Mental Health

Following a relapse of her mental health in 2015, Claire Henson found navigating public spaces nearly impossible. Busy city centres with limited facilities or places to seek refuge and support, left her feeling isolated and sometimes unable to leave her house.

Her solution? The Anxiety Map Programme, which shows supportive venues around town and city centres that offer a place to catch your breath, use the facilities, or even just get a glass of water!

Abdi of HiVu portrait
Digital Poverty

After failing a job interview due to unstable Wi-Fi in his tower block, Abdi and his friend Mohamed realised that many others in similar communities would be experiencing the same issue, as work and education moved online during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They decided to create a sustainable community Wi-Fi system, specifically designed for tower blocks, to help increase speed and accessibility, whilst reducing the cost for the customer.

Women's Health

Claire’s recent experience of the menopause left her feeling unsupported and uninformed. After struggling to get advice from her GP and finding that symptom-tracking apps were not inclusive, she reached out to friends and discovered they also encountered difficulties in understanding their symptoms.

Identifying the gap in support, Claire created ChangeXtra, a service providing counselling, coaching, peer support and access to learning to empower women going through the menopause.
